ETH Zurich’s Energy Politics Group joins CIS as a new member
The Energy Politics Group (EPG), led by Prof. Tobias Schmidt, will join CIS as of August 1, 2015. The group was established in February 2015 and investigates the interaction of public policy and its underlying politics with technological change in the energy sector. EPG’s research, which has a global focus, contributes to the two CIS research themes Markets and Politics as well as Sustainable Development.
Tina Freyburg now full professor of Comparative Politics at University of St. Gallen
Former CIS PhD student Tina Freyburg will start her new position as full professor of Comparative Politics at the University of St Gallen in August 2015. Prior to her move back to Switzerland, she has worked as assistant, then associate professor at the University of Warwick and spent a Max Weber year at the European Union Institute (EUI) in Florence.

EUP group member Dr. Thomas Winzen currently Visiting Scholar at Harvard University
EUP Group member Dr. Thomas Winzen has been appointed Visiting Scholar at the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies at Harvard University (01.09.2015- 29.02.2016). During his stay he will be working on a project on the engagement of parliamentarians and parties with the politics and policy-making of the European Union. On behalf of the EUP Group, we'd like to congratulate Thomas on this milestone!
