Freyburg, Tina Margarete, Dr.

Tina Freyburg is a post-doctoral researcher in European Politics at the Centre of Comparative and International Studies (CIS), ETH Zurich in Switzerland. She is currently at the European University Institute (EUI) Florence in Italy as a Max Weber Fellow.

Tina's research interests are in the intersection of International and Comparative Politics, more precisely in the areas of European (External) Governance, Democratization, and International Socialization. Her current research projects explore innovative venues and mechanisms for the promotion of democracy that arise from the potential democratizing effects of transgovernmental networks linking sub-units of administrations from democracies and the 'non-democratic world'.

Her research has won the best paper awards of the European Union Studies Association (EUSA) in 2009, the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR) Standing Group of International Relations in 2010, the International Studies Association (ISA, 'Carl Beck Award') in 2011, and the Swiss Network of International Studies (SNIS, 'International Geneva Award', co-authored paper) in 2011.
